For those that may not have noticed, there is an updated Custom Card Creation item in the game called the "Digital Artwork Disk Mk2". Aside from number of improvements in the basic function, a number of card types have been included that are not typically available in normal play. Most of these cards either exist as a logical conclusion or existing card types, or they are a card type that already exists in another format (Like the manga). While it should be pretty self explanitory how most of these work, I feel like it is worth mentioning for a few of them.
Dark Synchro Monster
Source: Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Anime and Manga
Unique Features: Dark Gray Card Background. Negative Levels (Indicated by blue stars) ranging from 0 to -13.
Rules to be aware of:
Dark Synchro Monsters are their own unique card type, but they are also treated as Synchro Monsters as well. So a card like "Battle Waltz", for example, can still be used on a Dark Synchro.
Be aware that, due to their Negative Levels, some cards will work quite differently with them, depending on how the math works out, when interacting with their Level. ("Reduce your LP by that monster's Level x 300." A Lv4 monster would mean losing 1200 LP, but a Lv-4 Dark Synchro would mean gaining 1200 LP.) Also be aware that some cards may not be possible to use with a Dark Synchro because of that. (You cannot discard a negative number of cards, or draw a negative number of cards.)
When creating a Dark Synchro, keep in mind that the standard opening for text on a Dark Synchro should be...
Dark Tuner Monster
Source: Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Anime and Manga
Unique Features: None of note
Rules to be aware of:
Similar to the Dark Synchro Monsters, a Dark Tuner monster is both a unique ability in its own right and is also treated as a Tuner as well. Any card that would work on a Tuner can also work on a Dark Tuner.
Ideally, Dark Tuners will include "Dark Tuner - " at the beginning of the game, if you want to stick with the conventions portrayed in the anime.
Dark Synchro Pendulum Monster
Source: None / Logical Conclusion
Unique Features: Same as regular Dark Synchro Monsters
Rules to be aware of:
Since Dark Synchros will have levels ranging from 0 to -13, they will not be able to be Pendulum Summoned without using a Pendulum Monster with Negative Scales, none of these exist in real cards, but they can be created as custom cards.
Ritual Pendulum Monster
Source: None / Logical Conclusion
Unique Features: Same as regular Ritual Monsters
Rules to be aware of:
Just like any other Pendulum Monster, if the card has a summoning requirement (Ritual Summon in the case of this card), it cannot be Pendulum Summoned unless that requirement was already met. This means that you cannot Pendulum Summon a Ritual Pendulum Monster from your hand and can only Pendulum Summon it from the Extra Deck if you Ritual Summoned it first.
The card can be activated from the hand like any other Pendulum Monster.
Link Pendulum Monster
Source: None / Logical Conclusion
Unique Features: Link Arrows available in your Pendulum Zones
Rules to be aware of:
Just like with Fusion Pendulum, Synchro Pendulum, and Xyz Pendulum Monsters, this card can only be Pendulum Summoned from the Extra Deck if it was properly summoned first.
Just like with Link Spells, a Link Pendulum Monster placed in a Pendulum Zone still allows for access to its Link Arrows.
Link Monsters do not have Levels or Ranks, when Pendulum Summoning, similar to how Xyz Pendulums will treat their Rank as a Level, Link Pendulums should treat their Link Rating as a Level for the Pendulum Summon.
Ideally, you should be including this line in any Link Pendulum Monster you create.
Trap-Spell Cards
Source: Yu-Gi-Oh! Manga
Unique Features: Purple and Green Card Background
Rules to be aware of:
A Trap-Spell Card counts as both a Trap Card and a Spell Card for all card effects.
They are Spell Speed 2 cards and can be activated from your hand on your own turn, just like a Quick-Play Spell.
Once set, just like a Trap or a Quick-Play Spell, you cannot activate the card until the beginning of the next turn.
The game currently allows for; Normal, Continuous, and Field Trap-Spell Cards
Virus Cards
Source: Yu-Gi-Oh! Manga
Unique Features: Red and Black Card Background
Rules to be aware of:
Virus Cards do not count as either Spells or Traps but are still played in the Spell/Trap Zones.
A Face-Down Virus Card will be considered a Face-Down Spell/Trap Card while in a Spell/Trap Zone.
Just like with Trap-Spells and Quick-Play Spells, they can be activated from your hand on your turn.
Likewise, a set Virus Card cannot be activated until the start of the next turn.
The game currently allows for; Normal, Continuous, and Field Virus Cards

When creating a Dark Synchro, keep in mind that the standard opening for text on a Dark Synchro should be...
1 non-Tuner monster - 1 Dark Tuner monster
<font color=#8F8F8F>In order to Special Summon this card, subtract the Level of a "Dark Tuner" monster from the Level of 1 other monster you control; the value must equal the Level of this card.</font>
Ideally you should stick to this format, for the first line of your Dark Synchro, unless you're giving it a unique summoning requirement.Dark Tuner Monster

If you can Pendulum Summon Level <LINK RATING HERE>, you can Pendulum Summon this face-up card in your Extra Deck.
